Intel and SoftBank subsidiary SAIMEMORY announced a partnership to commercialize Z-Angle Memory (ZAM), an advanced DRAM technology using vertical stacking designed to overcome bandwidth bottlenecks in AI processing. ZAM promises 2–3x the capacity of existing high-bandwidth memory with higher bandwidth at significantly lower power and cost. Commercial availability is targeted for 2029, with prototypes expected by 2027.
