The creator of Roomba is back with a furry robot companion

Colin Angle, creator of Roomba, has launched Familiar Machines & Magic with a quadruped robotic companion called the Familiar. The dog-sized embodied AI system uses on-device generative AI to form emotional connections with users and develop distinct personalities. The company targets consumer applications including eldercare, companionship, entertainment, and smart home integration, with availability planned for 2025.
