Tyler Robert Buchanan, a Scottish member of the Scattered Spider cybercrime crew, has pleaded guilty in California to wire fraud and identity theft. Between September 2021 and April 2023, Buchanan admitted to participating in phishing and SIM-swap attacks that stole at least $8 million in cryptocurrency from US companies and individuals. This is the second Scattered Spider member to plead guilty in US courts.
