Operational Noncommutativity in Sequential Metacognitive Judgments

Metacognitive evaluations of cognitive processes typically depend on the order in which evaluations occur. This paper develops an operational framework to determine whether such order effects reflect classical state changes or reveal deeper structural non-commutativity. The authors demonstrate testable constraints that can distinguish between classical and non-classical explanations of sequential cognitive dependencies.
