Mythos found 271 Firefox flaws – but none a human couldn’t spot

Mozilla Foundation tested Anthropic's Mythos bug-finding AI on Firefox 150, finding 271 vulnerabilities compared to 22 discovered by humans using Opus 4.6. Mozilla CTO Bobby Holley described the results as a watershed moment, arguing Mythos's ability to match elite researchers while remaining within human-comprehensible vulnerability categories gives defenders a decisive advantage. Closing the gap between machine and human discovery makes vulnerabilities cheap for defenders to find while eroding attackers' reliance on expensive human effort.
