Lucid is expanding its robotaxi partnership with Uber from 20,000 to 35,000 Gravity SUVs and securing $700 million in additional capital ($200M from Uber, $500M from Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund). The company also appointed Silvio Napoli, a Swiss-Italian executive with 30+ years in elevator manufacturing, as its new CEO. The first robotaxi service, developed with autonomous startup Nuro, is already in beta in San Francisco with safety drivers.
