Ubuntu commissioned an independent security audit by Zellic for rust-coreutils ahead of adoption in its LTS release. The two-phase audit (Dec 2025-Mar 2026) identified 113 issues of varying severity across the codebase, with the upstream uutils community swiftly addressing findings. Zellic contributed 30 mitigation pull requests directly to the project.
